This record is the last but one post feat. ANDY PAWLAK.
He recorded this record under the name MONKEY "Low Beat Folk" with SCOTT DONALDSON but never released it.
Now the songs are available on his myspace website under the name SUBDELUXE "Tales From The Monkeyshed".
I prefer the SUBDELUXE artwork... (though it's really small)

I have recently heard that Andy is a driving instructor now in the UK. Rumours...
My gift for you on Christmas Eve...
The most moving and beautiful pop album ever recorded.
Music for lovers, music for christmas, music from and for the heart.
ANDY PAWLAK once supported THE POGUES on a tour and the audience started throwing bottles at him while he stood on the stage solitarily.
He started playing his songs on his acoustic guitar and soon the audience stopped throwing and simply listened to his music, wouldn't even let him leave the stage.
This record is unique, special, a milestone!

I bought this album because of the artwork. Beautiful!!! And I was quite surprised when I actually listened to the music. Very melodic britpop. I found other EAST VILLAGE stuff on NOISEBOX.

From my early 1990s archive... This record contains two e.p.'s plus 4 extra tracks.
Very catchy and fragile britpop tunes. Very 90s. Very fresh and Aztec Camera.

Bringing back memories of f***ing happy / happy f***ing weekends in munich... Fidel, do you remember?
This is something I've always said I'd never do...but this year during a few of my solo shows, I've been playing more of my old songs and I think I've gradually accepted that this is okay now. Why not, when in essence, people just want to hear them played again? I did a particular show in June this year when the audience chose the songs; the gig was seventy five percent Love And Money. Thing is, I enjoyed it..
Five albums on as a solo artist, I feel as if I've put enough distance between me and my old band to be able to do this.. This is about getting together with old friends(and fans)and having a good time.
As part of Celtic Connections 2011, on Sunday January 16th at the Royal Concert Hall in Glasgow, LOVE AND MONEY will be performing our two best albums in their entirety; Dogs In The Traffic and Strange Kind Of Love (it is the twenty fifth anniversary of this records release).
I'm giving you the heads up, tickets will be available from the 19th October.
In 1999 Mark Burgess (formerly front man of THE CHAMELEONS) and Yves Altana (formerly producer of THE CHAMELEONS) released "Venus" under the name INVINCIBLE.
Of course it's THE CHAMELEONS music, lyrics, sound, voice...
Enjoy as much as I do.
And may it be a surprise for some of you out there!
INVINCIBLE - Venus (1999)
01 Venus On The Rise
03 Think (It's Going to Happen)
04 Do It Tomorrow
07 Burning Bibles
11 Only You Could Save Me
13 Think (Again)
Sorry for the delay... I had an accident last week and injured my ribs which made writing extremely painful and uncomfortable. But here I am, back again and recovered.
The idea for today's post struck me this morning while I was listening to SIOUXSIE & THE BANSHEES "Rapture" and remembered TERRY HALL covering this song with the DUB PISTOLS. So here we are with TERRY HALL covering SIOUXSIE, himself with THE SPECIALS, plus some other stuff from the DUB PISTOLS' 2007 release "Speakers And Tweeters":
I bought this album mainly for the memory of the extended 12" remix version of "LOVE LIKE BLOOD" that takes me back to the years of my first girl friends, first nights out with mega black-outs from heavy drinking, holidays without my parents (see "mega black-outs") in greece, injuries without knowing where from, pure fun!
KILLING JOKE - RMXD (2007) 01 Eighties (Serious Dance Mix) 02 Blue Feather (Dub) 03 A New Day (Dub) 04 Love Like Blood (Extended 12'' Mix) 05 Kings And Queens (A Right Royal Mix) 06 Blue Feather (Extended Mix) 07 Eighties (Coming Mix) 08 Dance Day 09 Wardance (The RAF Mix) 10 Sanity (The Roman Mix) 11 Ecstasy (The Extended Mix) 12 Adorations (Instrumental Mix) 13 Love Like Blood (The '86 Remix) 14 Stay One Jump Ahead (Extended Mix) 15 America (Dub)
This soundboard recording was made from a local radio station for broadcast purpose. The quality is perfect and Mr. Lloyd "Weirdo" Cole is in a good mood. Even talking to the audience!
LLOYD COLE - Live In Hamburg "Knust", 20 APR 2009 01 Woman In A Bar 02 Don't Look Back 03 My Other Life 04 Cut Me Down 05 Music In A Foreign Language 06 Like Lovers Do 07 Are You Ready To Be Heartbroken? 08 Trigger Happy 09 Late Night, Early Town 10 No More Love Songs 11 Hey Rusty 12 Impossible Girl 13 Lost Weekend 14 If I Were A Carpenter 15 Perfect Skin 16 The Young Idealists 17 Unhappy Song 18 2CV 19 Undressed
Very beautiful acoustic evening!
Enjoy as much as I do! Have a whisky and lay back!
I know a lot of people out there in www that are desperately looking for this mega album from FIRE NEXT TIME (and some of them would probably kill for the original copy). This rebel rock band recorded one record only. Now there is one other band called THE FIRE NEXT TIME which has nothing in common with this scorcher from the 80s.
If you love the REDSKINS you will also love FIRE NEXT TIME!
Northern Soul! Britpop!
With The Kick Horns!
The keyboard player was with THE MEN THEY COULDN'T HANG if I'm not wrong. FIRE NEXT TIME North To South (1988) 01 Fields of France 02 Too Close 03 Can't Forgive 04 She Was Strong 05 Saint Mary's Steps 06 Stay With Me Now 07 Following the Hearse 08 Supasave 09 North To South 10 We've Lost Too Much 11 Saint Mary's Steps (Up Tempo Version)I know you will have fun!!!!
Great compilation of rare or unreleased stuff released on vinyl only in january this year, unnoticed at least from me.
Some songs are now released on the before mentioned 20-years anniversary edition of "Bona Drag". Others have been released in different version before (e.g. "Please Help The Cause Against Loneliness" with Sandie Shaw - as posted here before). Others are released on "SouthpawGrammar Ltd.Ecolbook Version".
There are too many CLASHBest Of releases. All with the same songs.
You will find most of them on this compilation but you will also find some surprises that would never ever find their ways onto any official Best Of because CBS means Countless Bloody Suckers (for success).
This here is a compilation of the major mega hits plus some nice and forgotten stuff from the regular records.
I just deleted my personal Best Of last year to compile a completely new one. THIS ONE:
01 Hate & War 02 I'm So Bored With the U.S.A 03 London's Burning 04 Police & Thieves 05 Garageland 06 (White Man) in Hammersmith Palais 07 I Fought the Law 08 Safe European Home 09 Tommy Gun 10 Julie's In The Drug Squad 11 Stay Free 12 London Calling 13 Hateful 14 Spanish Bombs 15 Lost in the Supermarket 16 The Guns of Brixton 17 I'm Not Down 18 Train in Vain 19 The Magnificient Seven 20 The Leader 21 Rebel Waltz 22 Somebody Got Murdered 23 Lightning Strikes (Not Once But Twice) 24 Up In Heaven (Not Only Here) 25 Police On My Back 26 The Call Up 27 Washington Bullets 28 Charlie Don't Surf 29 Should I Stay Or Should I Go? 30 Rock The Casbah 31 Straight To Hell 32 Overpowered By Funk 33 Inoculated City 34 1-2 Crush On You 35 Groovy Times 36 Radio Clash 37 Capital Radio Two 38 This Is England
20 THE CLASH - Rockers Galore - Talk Considering that PAUL WELLER's recent release "Wake Up The Nation" had more downloads in one day than the above mentioned no.1 has in full, the real no.1 is (although deleted by megaupload) PAUL WELLER. Nonetheless, THE CLASH is obviously the most demanded band of THIS IS INDIE!

On every regularly available "Best Of"-collection of any band in the world there are always songs that I personally would never ever a) release as a single (e.g. "Zombie" of The Cranberries) or b) put on a "Best Of" release - single or not.
Here is my personal "Best Of The Housemartins" because in my opinion "Now That's What I Call Quite Good!" was far behind their possibilities.
THE HOUSEMARTINS - Now That's What I Call Fuckin' Brilliant! 01 Happy Hour 02 Get Up Off Our Knees 03 Anxious 04 Reverends Revenge 05 Sitting On A Fence 06 Sheep 07 Over There 08 We're Not Deep 09 Freedom 10 The Mighty Ship 11 The People Who Grinned Themselves to Death 12 The World's on Fire 13 We're Not Going Back 14 Me and the Farmer 15 Five Get Over Excited 16 You Better Be Doubtful 17 Bow Down 18 Everyday's the Same 19 Drop Down Dead 20 Hopelessly Devoted to Them 21 Caravan of Love 22 Flag Day 23 The Light Is Always Green 24 Build All killers - No fillers!(OK, except for the last 4 slow songs that should be on this compilation anyway.) Enjoy as much as I do...

The artwork is a screenshot of their homepage. But it seemed appropriate and fitting. Have fun!
In 1988 Industrial music ruled parts of the electronic world. There was one electronic indie band that appeared and disappeared almost unnoticed from the scene although the record was very innovative and honestly f***ing brilliant - A MILESTONE and somewhere between NEW ORDER and FRONT 242:
THE SCREAMING TREES from the UK with the following musicians involved: Sean Maloney (bass & guitar) Mark Swancott (vocals, guitar & drum programming) Mark Ryan (additional vocals) Stephen Singleton & David Levin (producers)
The files come with the original cd artwork. "broaden up your northern accent - you worked in a mill, baby!"mischief is their occupation malice their habit murder their sport and blasphemy their delight
